Turning a House into a Forever Home

Change is the only constant in life. While the loss of a life partner is a difficult period of grief and sadness, eventually it is also the start of a new chapter.

The client for this project is a widower who decided to relocate from New Hampshire to Pennsylvania. He wanted to create a new space that exudes the feeling of “home” for the next phase of his life. However, he struggled to hone in on his personal identity and style since the loss of his wife.

This project was completed with our client off-site, but we stayed in touch throughout the project to review progress, discuss design concepts, and stay on track with his budget.

With each space, we sought to create a design aesthetic that spoke to his personality and brought fond life memories into the present moment. The combination of comfortable modern furniture with his antique grandfather clock created a sense of ease and intrigue in the main living room.

In the bedroom, we opted for cohesion and simplicity. A soft color palette paired beautifully with the dark wood furnishings to create a warm, inviting ambiance that matched his unique taste.

His bright office space provides a seamless continuity with the rest of his home. Comfortable seating, subtle design accents, and a prominent bookshelf with books and trinkets from his life all come together to bring charm to the space.

Our client was absolutely delighted with his finished home design and the streamlined design process we offered. He’s eager to settle into the next phase of life in a comfortable, cohesive home. Is your home in need of a complete redesign to match your current lifestyle?
